Though Lawful in alignment Mind Flayers are horrifically evil and tyrannical beings. They dwell deep below the surface of the earth, feeding on the brains of other creatures. Mind Flayers attack with a mind blast, a cone of mental energy 60 feet long and 20 feet wide at the end which paralyzes for 3d4 rounds all those who fail their Save vs. Wands. The Mind Flayer only uses its tentacle attacks on unarmed or helpless victims; if all four tentacles connect the Mind Flayer devours the victim's brain. The Mind Flayer may use charm person, charm monster, ESP, levitation, or astral projection once per round. The Mind Flayer is 90% resistant to all forms of magic.
