How does banking work in this era of creation?

There is, in this odd town, a bank in which a good deal of gold has been deposited recently. Not by myself personally, but by another character altogether. Nonetheless, when the local patriarchs arched their backs and hissed because the loot deposited had come from the purses of some of their own (murdered) kin the bank didn't falter and wouldn't give up the depositor's name. This to me suggests a fairly high level of banking organization & operations. So does this possibly mean that a bank in the Rakshasa Sultanate (does that town have a name?) could possibly transfer funds to a bank in Belltower or another large town?

Neither Belltower nor Hruhrudingfallor has a bank. It is possible that there are some in the Nameless City or the City of Shifters. Banking operations are not a matter of common knowledge - the Bank Inviolable may be a unique aspect of the Rakshasa Sultanate - but characters with an appropriate background may know more, or anyone is free to say "here is how banking was done in the place I'm from" which may provide a useful perspective.
