Post Session W32: The Anubis Caper

The experience sheet is also updated with new totals.

Surviors gained a mind-boggling 21,961 gp each, and up to 24,153 exp, for those who could actually absorb that much without undue leveling.

This was by FAR the biggest take we have had in the 2-year+ of the campaign! Please note there are a bunch of people who are only a carouse away from leveling. Grats!

I created a Wiki page to track the Grey Company's communal Spell list: The Grey Company Spellbook, to get ready for the books/scrolls we brought back from the tomb. But I don't actually know what the list to date is, so I filled in the standard Whitebox spells. If someone can comment on the page with actual list, I'll update the tables.

Jedo, thanks for doing the spell-book page: I added the current list of spells available to us, as well as some background (to explain why there are no 6th level spells).

I do not think we found any cleric spell scrolls until session 32. I assume they work the same way as M-U scrolls, i.e., once we have found out how to cast a cleric spell from another book, it becomes available to all clerics. But it may NOT work that way, since clerics get powers in other ways: for instance Caswyn of Apollo can cast light spells like faerie fire that other clerics cannot.

Anyone have a strong point of view on this, especially Tavis?

I like the idea that a cleric can learn a prayer from another tradition (whether that's via a scroll or a variant cleric like Caswyn) and cast it by rote, like a spell, but that this may have theological consequences: for example a cleric of darkness might draw heat from their god by casting one of Caswyn's unique spells. I'm tempted to say that clerics of Law would face these consequences by casting any non-canonical spell: since the 3LBB's are the holy writ for this age of creation, any spell not contained there must be heretical.

A couple things:

I'm assuming that EN Lightenment doesn't get a share of the XP or gold, because he got resurrected after the fact? That makes sense to me, but I just wanted to be sure. (<sigh> His quest for 6th level continues on. So close, but yet so far. </sigh>) And I'm assuming he's paying for the resurrection out of his own cash, but I don't think he has enough. I'm assuming someone can spot him for the time being, seeing as everyone around him is flush with cash?

Also, Darwin is Darwin of Drumthwacket (a Dwarf is naturally proud of his hometown). I changed it on the summary, but I couldn't change it on the XP Sheet.

Yes, XP is awarded only to survivors, which E.N. was not at the time. However, I think his resurrection funds were paid for from party treasure taken off the top.

If that's the case, that's not so bad, considering. Cause of death: Failed Save vs Death Ray. Normal cost of Resurrection: 10,000 GP. Getting brought back to life for free by your party? Priceless.
