This is a thread to discuss plans for following up on the events of Session 5 and float ideas for where to go next.
The summary of this thread says it all. I feel odd prodding people into action but at the same time I would like to see the plans for my resurrection moving forward, even if only so I can determine/post about my next move(s).
E.N. Lightenment will inquire with the priests at the Church of the Killing Frost to see if they would be willing to resurrect Ookla. And if so, what they would require in return.
Yes, let's do this. What do they want? What do they fear? Push the gold in your negotiations. Ookla would have wanted to pay for this himself.
Lotur would like to find the proper method for returning the soul of Okla back to his gold-encrusted body. Using the contacts and knowledge he gained while Ruminating On His ResurrectionTM, he will inquire with the sages and philosophers about who he can petition to have the elf raised from the dead. He will first check with elven authorities and then ranger and druid organizations based in Hruhrudingfalor about what can be done for the Mok. He will spend a quantity of his GP for a non-carousing achievement of this goal.
If Okla comes back from he dead he will have him interviewed by a sage so that an illuminated monograph can be commissioned and written in pictograms detailing his brief encounter with the afterlife.
OK, let's have E.N. Lightenment and Lotur make some rolls! Do you want to register on the hamete dice server (if so I'll send you an invite), or have me hit the button?
E.N., I think the chart you're rolling on will be:
When you ask a church that you're in good standing with to resurrect someone of the church's alignment, roll 2d6 + Wisdom. On a 10+, they agree in exchange for 1 hold over you. On a 7-9, they do it for 3 hold - two now and one later. On a miss, the DM may suggest an unpleasant alternative, a hard bargain, or an unexpected complication.
In this case, you can buy off the resurrecting cleric's hold by offering:
- a magic item
- 1,000 gp per level of the character raised
- accepting a geas to perform a task
- a year's worth of geased service to the temple
Lotur, your chart is:
when you spend 1,000 gp in search of someone who can raise an elf, roll 2d6, +1 if you spend 2,000 gp, +2 if you spend 5,000. You learn the name of a person who could, and10+, choose 3, 7-9, choose 1.
- you learn the nature of the person who can
- it's not dangerous to approach that person (i.e., can be done online)
- that person can cast raise dead, not reincarnate
- nothing else is required to gain access to that person
Ignoring my clicking flub on the dice log (or the DM can mercilessly hold me to it):
2000gp for +1 roll to see if Lotur can track down a source that can bring Okla back.
2d6 +1
3 + 6 + 1 = 10
- the source is not dangerous
- nothing else is required to gain access
- source can raise dead

Okay. Let's do this. You can send me the dice-server invite, as well. And do you mean Wisdom or Wisdom-bonus? He's got a 13 Wisdom.
And to pay for this, are we using party treasure, Ookla's treasure, or? I don't know that E.N. would have enough to pay for it personally.
