Thought I'd open up a new thread so we could discuss what our plan of action is for this coming session. We're not operating along the same lines as we once were where our plan was to take down the Beast Lord come what may and so our long term goal was set. We're trying to figure out what happened to the Ninth Menegril and also to his very dead trading companion, but how shall we set about it? What other items are on our agenda? Are we going to go after the Hill Giants at some point? Seems like this might be a bit unnecessary since we've already looted their joint, but who doesn't like chopping up hill giants? Or maybe we should start a full-on assault of Tizun Thane's place. If the people that are currently in his house have just left his body to rot, then doesn't it stand to reason that they're not his friends and so they should be gutted and have their purses emptied be quesitoned?
I think going back to Tizun Thane's place, we might be able to find out some more information. Or if not, what kind of people leave his body to rot? They really should be given a stern talking to. And of course, hill giants seem like fun, too.
Maldoor is completely on-board with heading back to the house of Tizun Thane and sniffing out his magical hoard solving the mystery of his disappearance.
A proposed long-term goal (if we need one): lets clear Mr. Thane's place and make it our own seat of operations. It would give us a place in limbo as well as continuing access to those interesting portals. I suspect if we go back and review Tavis' descriptions of what we see through the portals we will discover that those portals lead to a bunch of interesting places (in an application of dungeon logic, I bet in addition to G1 we will find access to S2 and others).
Maybe Maldoor will change his carousing to figuring out how the portals work? Ideas? Suggestions?
I suppose that what I'm trying to accomplish is getting us all to agree on a course of action for the coming session. Seems like sorting out Tizun Thane's residence for one reason or another could be a good thing, and a very clear direction for the session. Anyone opposed to this?
Raiding a house in limbo sounds fun. Can anyone give me a summary of who the fellow is and what happened, or point me to a page or thread with the information?
Father Wonder looks forward to not looking into the many gateways of the multiverse.
Thanks to all you White Boxers for letting me sit in long enough to help get an eight-year old high on drugs. I don't believe this b.s. about him actually being 300 years old, you naughty people.
One miniaturized, transformable giant eagle, used once and left to his own devices in Limbo: 7,500 gp.
Seven questions to an all-knowing Gynosphinx which cut through plot lines like a hot knife through butter and reveal the speediest path to the most treasure: 800gp.
Death by being turned to gold by magic-ified coins and dropped by a friend through a trap door twenty feet to the floor: Priceless.

Ya, I guess Lotur's yanking and dropping would have worked better before the gold terminator zipped into your bloodstream.
I hope we have enough money to resurrect Ookla, after having blown a lot of money with Ontussa.
But: what do we do with Thirster in the meantime?

It's really fun to have this old-school module that's been waiting in the wings for so long, and then have you only go there when you have enough resources to zip through it with a buttery sizzle. Especially when you leave the mad villain of the piece for dead, divested of his magic items but with only one of his head-full of spells expended, so that we may well get still more unexpected fun out of Albie Fiore's little gem!
what do we do with Thirster in the meantime?
One all-important roll I always forget to make - and specifically reminded myself about before this session - is the saving throw for magic items belonging to a character who is killed. Thirster is, obviously, the big and scary one, but what others should we check for?
Silver: for items which do not survive, it's likely to be because they are turned to gold…

By current carousing standards, questioning Ontussa is cheap! I think that her role in the game is to answer questions at the table, when efficiency is at a premium, carousing for XP is not part of the equation, and the stakes are not elaborate plot-complications to be handled in an indie-game fashion online but rather having your head clawed off by a catty sphinx over a single gold piece, or being paralyzed by a gelatinous cube or carrion crawler on your way to reach her, in an old-school dungeony kind of way that deserves to be done where you can see me roll the dice.
