Oh, drat— Is this dead?
I suppose it depends on what you mean by "this".
Hey Redboxers! It's me, your Redbrethren from Vancouver. Our site is indeed dead, I hope the sickness has not affected the granddaddy of them all.
I actually logged in to ask if any of you know about and/or have played with the DCC RPG NYC meetup group. Sounds like you guys might have compatible interests, and I've been enjoying DCC over my way lately.

Hope everyone is rollin' dice and takin' names.

Vancouver Red Box: a site for old school D&D
Well, it's not completely done, but it's very sparse these days. There is technically still one campaign active, the Marvel Super Heroes game that I run. It's currently on hiatus, as I have some personal stuff to deal with. But hopefully in the next few weeks I should be able to get that back up and running. There may be some scattered interest in other games, but nothing else has materialized.
As far as the DCC RPG NYC meetup, I believe it's run by someone with a connection to Redbox. And I believe naraoia mentioned playing with them.
Hey, werecat here (a/k/a Judge Jeff). I run the DCC NYC Meetup group. Thanks for the plug cr0m!
We've been doing games most Sundays from 4pm-8pm at the Brooklyn Strategist and the games usually fully RSVP within a few days of posting. I usually post new games on Sundays around 9pm so insider tip… if you check the Meetup page on Sunday nights or Monday mornings, you should be able to RSVP no prob.
It's been a blast!
If anyone wants to chat with me about it, let me know!
I would also love to check out the Marvel Superheroes game sometime.
Running something seems to be the way to get it rolling. :-)
Hope your simplification was welcome and not thrust upon you. Or at least welcomed even if it was.
I thrust it upon myself, and it was most welcome.
I've got bookshelves full of games I want to play, so I will think on it.
ETA: Though I'm always partial to dungeon delving and dragon fighting, but people here might be tired of that.
