Roland awakens one morning, swings his legs off the side of the bed and promptly stumbles on the sleeping, prostrate form of Claire Bloodblade. She snorts, turns, and falls back asleep, snoring. What the hell? Why is Bloodblade sleeping on the floor of the Earl's chamber? Rubbing his eyes, he espies two more silhouettes in makeshift bundles about the room. He tiptoes downstairs. Did someone call a Company stock meeting? It seems like half of Rouvière is here, sleeping in hammocks and bunks and bedrolls in the crowded Citadel of Rouvière. Carefully, he peers at a few of the faces….Cut Coutelain…Bouvier Flanders….Pritchard Hood??
Wow. All these guys must be hard up for cash back home.
Quickly realizing that the great majority of the Company of Crossed Swords is sleeping in his living room, Roland seizes upon the fleeting opportunity that has presented itself. There's probably no better time to rid Rouvière of the army of bandits and orcs encamped on its doorstep at the Chateau d'Amberville, and/or one of the archdevils themselves.
Recalling the rumors he's heard from many a rumor-monger that the (dis)organized adventuring community of Glantri are willing to set aside current and former grievances and band together to try to take on one of the archdevils, he quickly dispatches messengers to the various heads of various adventuring companies, as well as to Marchosias de Marais in the hopes of gauging and gathering the interest and courage of the irregular forces of Glantri to march on one of the accessible archdevils - namely Firkas or Malacoda - hopefully under the mighty banner of the Earldom of Rouvière!
I need to get someone on fashioning a coat of arms….
