Henchman/Retainer exp

Sorry, I don't recall how we're handling henchman/retainer advancement. So, they get exp for killing monsters like PCs do, and they've been getting a half share of treasure. Does that half share essentially translate directly in XP for them since it's assumed they spend it on…stuff? If not, how do we get these important NPCs to advance?

Yeah, they've been getting a half share of monster XP and a half share of treasure, and their treasure is generally spent on… stuff… and thus translates into XP.

You can speed up their advancement by giving them additional cash for stuff they might benefit from, like equipment, training, spell research, etc.
