Having had a blast with IO's delve in pursuit of the vampire commanding the Army of Smoke, I'm eager to roll some dice again with Javi. Anyone else down for some afternoon gaming this Saturday? It was fun to be a dad-and-son player team if someone wants to run a mini-adventure, but I'm also ready to DM the further adventures of the nature elf & co.
I sent Jon, Eric, and Chris into a different railroaded delve situation, having learned how difficult it was to scale down what I was using. But I'd be really happy to continue the pursuit of Captain Blood saturday. I can cut the baddies down some more and/or more folks could join us.
Anyone interested, I had a really great time with Tavi and Javi. That kid knows how to play.
Awesome, I'm so down for vampire-hunting Saturday afternoon! What time is good?
That kid know how to play.
The secret to having a good time in D&D is to not know that a 5 is not a good roll on a d20; which is to say, to have a boundless enthusiasm for everything the game throws your way.
Instead of scaling the baddies further, maybe we should level up? A +1 to hit & defense and a couple of extra hit points would go a long way to keeping us ticking without reducing the challenge overmuch. Another option would be to make the monkey combat-effective. More monkey = more fun.
How about I scale it down a little and we level you if it's just us three. Hopefully some other folks will get in on the fun, in which case everyone can remain first level.
I'm open to any time. What's good?
Gents,
if we make it 3pm I can come with Ed from my mentoring program. Sound good?
Me: "OK, we can go after Captain Blood on Saturday at 3!"
Javi: "Good."
Me: "There will be two other friends on our team."
Javi: "Who?"
Me: "Doug and Ed. Adrian will be dungeon master."
Javi: "All right! I like Adrian being Dungeon M."
I'll have to confirm with Ed later today but I'm sure he'll be up for it.
This sounds awesome, have fun and keep us posted. I wonder if my son will want to try roleplaying in a few years.
I'll give you the syllabus for my training program. Let's pretend storytelling is the first step; for us this was Green Lantern stories, in which Javi describes the superhero's response to situations I'd come up with.
Ed is on-board. So Adrian - are we ok for 3pm tomorrow?
