Flood Control Dam No. 3

Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan
Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan
Got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home.

—Led Zeppelin (covering Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie)

Flood Control Dam No. 3 is a location in the Black Peaks, about midway between Threshold and the Steachwarrens. It was here that the Dwarves had their first encounter with the Red Dragon. The site of this massacre remains a forbidding, gruesome location even one hundred years later.

Travelers' reports are few, owing perhaps to a large Goblin encampment amid the dam complex, but those who manage to return to civilization attest that the great machinery of the damn, though falling into disuse, may yet be serviceable.

James Notes

I've been listening to the Led Zeppelin version a lot lately. I've never been a big fan of theirs, but a lot of their better-known songs totally fit the vibe I'm going for here. Maybe some version of the song is sung by the Dwarves.
