Those days remain outside my capabilities of time and availability, but I wanted to check in with y'all. I love how this provides a lasting document to all those great sessions. I've spent too much time the last day or so reading through old game threads and recaps and have to thank James, Tavis, et al, for forming the site. It sounds like most everyone has been taking hits in the last year or so; hope things are looking up. Or will, soon.

Above all, thanks to Eric for the great Glantri campaign. I would love, love, love, to read the Chateau maps and room descriptions, but this doesn't acknowledge the chance we can cobble things back together some time in the future. I like how there were two distinct eras of the campaign, one marked by Hanna's family and the Wizard of Oz trip through Darokin and over the seas, where we were happy to kill a handful of hobgoblins, capped off, perhaps, with Robert's departure… and the second with Roland, Cut Coutelain, and Co., where some sessions we were plowing through trolls and wights… and Martin and Pritchard Hood (and a host of others) throughout.

And then everyone started having babies. And moving away. For shame.

I find myself with a bunch of miniatures (D&D, Warhammer, etc.) and old collectible card games (Legend of the Five Rings and Vampire: the Eternal Struggle) that I simply don't have room for. If I can't give them away, they'll get tossed in the trash. If anyone's interested. please let me know ASAP!

The Come Out & Play Festival returns this weekend for our ninth annual weekend of street games. The festival is jumping across the river to DUMBO for After Dark then back out Governors Island for a slew of new Field and Family games

After Dark - July 18 from 7 - 10:30 PM
Join us Friday July 18 in the Manhattan Bridge Archway Plaza in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Come to the Archway, just across from 155 Water Street to sign up and start playing. There will be outdoor street games taking over the area and a number of quick play installation games turning, the headquarters into a wild arcade. Check out all of the games here:

Family Day is a mini-festival of games for the whole family, organized by ESI Design, one of the world's foremost experience design firms. All of the games will connect together in a single fun storyline about Time Travel — complete with an official Time Travel Agency, games throughout time, chronological paradoxes, and imminent threats to the space-time continuum! You’ll be able to play just one or two games as you like, or all of them for an epic Time Travel adventure. See the slate here:

I would like to invite everyone here to come to OSWARP (Old School Wargaming and Role Playing), which is a gaming convention being held in Morristown, NJ on July 4th and 5th. It's being held in conjunction with Dexcon, which is a very well-established convention that covers all sorts of gaming, and if we're moderately successful it'll be spun off into its own convention in 2015.

Game Masters are especially welcome - we're looking for folks who want to run anything from OD&D to 2E, and Traveler, Runequest, T&T, Gamma World, Metamorphosis Alpha, Star Frontiers, Labyrinth Lord, S&W, Adventures Dark and Deep, miniatures, hex-and-counter wargames… you name it. If you sign up for the special OSWARP convention price, you get into Dexcon for free, which is a pretty great deal.

Hi Redboxers, I'll be in town next week getting ready for a solo exhibit I'm having at Mulherin + Pollard in the LES. My work is somewhat D&Dish, and there's another exhibit of work in the gallery's side room that is also somewhat D&Dish, though I don't know if the other artist is/was a gamer or not. If you're around and want to see some art on Friday night, the reception will be from 6-9pm. I'd love to see you there (and I'm flying in from Qatar to be there)!

My wife is going to NYC on business early in November, and I am tagging along. I'll be in town from November 1st (arriving late in the evening) to the 6th (leaving in the afternoon). Any games planned, or other things going on with y'all that I can jump in on?

Anyone know of a nice part of Manhattan, Brooklyn, or near-Queens where a 5th level Law-Monger can snag a 1 BR/1 BA, W/D in building, for under $1400 a month?
