I'm there. Thursday night or Friday night work for me. Both games are great but I have a slightly higher love of Pendragon. Am happy to do either, though.

James hasn't gamed in a fortnight or something, so let's meet up and throw dice. I offer two choices:

PENDRAGON
In which we play knights of Arthurian England. Characters are landed gentry who prance around reciting poetry and slaying savage invaders in the name of Christ, our lord.

ICEDRAGON (aka Mythic Iceland)
In which we play Icelandic settlers. Characters are viking farmers who sail around reciting poetry and invading civilized kingdoms in the name of Odin, the All-Father.

I'm free Thursday or Friday night, and would be happy to host at my apartment or at one of the usual Midtown dives.

As usual, this web comic makes me think of Pendragon.

MEN OF ENGLAND, shall we we not have adventures in the realm of Enchanted Britain?!? It has been a long time since any of the Pendragon crew has penned a dragon! I am not sure IO is doing anything gaming-wise these days, and Skidoo has been reduced to an urban legend. That leaves me to get my ass into trouble all by myself and my ass loves company. Wait…

Anyhow: Pendragon? Anyone? Someday?

That luck business is a weird dynamic.

(1) You're going to need Luck in order to survive the very brutal world of constant Viking combat.
(2) But Luck can only be invoked by rolling under your Luck score. (I.e., as you become ever more unlucky, it becomes harder to pull off)
(3) Every time you use Luck, you lose 2d6 Luck Points - making it that much harder to pull through next time.
(4) When your hit points get low enough, you die. Better spend luck!
(5) When your Luck Points get low enough, you're doomed to fate. Better risk them hit points!

Frankly I like Pendragon much better as a system, but I'm content to run around as a Viking for a while.

I wish I had seen this, rather than spread those rumors about Porolfur buggering sheep.

You missed the horrors of constant BRP combat ("my leg! my beautiful leg!"), the fact that Kjartan brings catastrophic weather whenever he sets foot on a boat, and oh, we're staging false flag guerrilla psy-ops against the King of Norway. Y'know. Typical Wednesday.

Let us continue the adventures of the most famous warriors three, the brothers Haralsson!

Last session, Kjartan, Porolfur, and Ottar the Scar-Gut battled a bear, wrote poetry, and enjoyed a brief lesson in Medieval Icelandic civics. When we left off, they were joining Issur the Surly's band of raiders for a three-month tour of Ireland's most flammable coasts.

I propose we play on Wednesday at Bread 'n' Butter. I can start as early as 6 PM.

Yeah, that "P" looking character is "TH" as in "Thing." So "Porolfur" is "Thorolfur" and "Porinna" is "Thorinna." Both are obviously based on "Thor." The Norse really like that guy.

I think the "thorn" character is usually represented in English with a Th, right? So Thorolfur? I honestly don't know, though.
