The Devilcall War

When Darokin assaulted a weakened Glantri yet again, the Council of Princes Thaumaturge — in a feat unprecedented in modern magecraft — summoned a Marquis of Hell with a full infernal legion to join the fray on Glantri's side. The devils were instrumental in breaking the Darokinese offensive and driving their forces back to the south.

Unfortunately, when Marquis Naberius fell during the war, the devil forces under his command didn't return to Hell. Though Glantrian troops, magic-users, and adventurers have cleared away many of the devils, others still linger. These have established their lairs in ruins, dungeons, or the wilderness throughout the countryside.
