The d'Ambrevilles were the historical lords of New Averoigne, ruling from the family seat near Malinbois. They were defeated in the civil war, and replaced by the Marais. This is a history of the clan as pieced together by the Company of Crossed Swords.
Notable Ambrevilles
Cezarine d'Ambreville: Author of On the Binding of Demons and On the Binding of Souls. Cezarine is recorded in Balchard's Cezarine and her Children, which mentions the Helm of Ulfhethinn.
Ferand d'Ambreville: Author of the multi-volume Incunabulum Artificium, which deals with the trapping of spirits for use in the crafting of magical items. Ferand reportedly specialized in stone- and earth-working enchantments.
Geraldine d'Ambreville: Geraldine was a mage-smith who eschewed the seven elemental metals in favor of alloys like electrum, pewter, bronze and brass.
Gaston d'Ambreville: Gaston notoriously married Amelie d'Erevan only to use her body as a host for a Princess of Hell. Amelie's soul was imprisoned in a magical mirror, which was subsequently shattered. The Company is trying to reunite the fragments in hopes of putting the poor woman's soul to rest.
Phoebe d'Ambreville: Mother of Evangelista de Sylaire. Phoebe was a skilled crafter of golems and automatons. Richard Loubeau claims that Phoebe was a vampire before being reduced to a spectral state. She was destroyed with the aid if a demon from Cocytus in Phoebe's Follies
